で「和菓子（日本の伝統的な菓子）は、その美しさと芸術的な美的感覚を通して日本の文化の真髄を内包しているといわれています。」という意味になります。

Wagashi, or traditional Japanese confectionery, で「和菓子（日本の伝統的な菓子）は」という意味になります。
or ～ という形で「言い換えれば、いわゆる」という意味になります。
とてもよく使われる表現なので覚えておきましょう。
confectionery は「菓子、菓子類」という意味です。お菓子全般を言い表すときに使います。
お菓子を一般的な言い方にすると、sweets です。
例：confectionery factory「菓子工場」、baked confectionery「焼き菓子類」
動詞形は、confect で「調製する、こしらえる、砂糖漬けにする」という意味になります。

is said to encompass the essence of Japanese culture で「日本文化の本質を内包するといわれている」です。
be said to ～ で「～すると言われている」という意味になります。
例：The mansion is said to be haunted.「その屋敷はお化けが出るといわれている。」
encompass は「包囲する、内包する、～を含む、覆う」という意味の動詞です。
例：encompass a broad range「幅広い範囲を含む」、encompass the entire globe「地球全体を網羅する」

through its beauty and artistic aesthetic で「その美しさと芸術的な美的思想」です。
aesthetic はエス[セ]ティックと発音して「美学、審美眼、美的思想」という意味の名詞です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
