小さな子を連れて息子の演奏会に行ったものの。

Today, I went to my son’s final band performance. I also have a busy toddler, so I ended up watching most of the performance in the hallway on a tv monitor. In the middle of the awards ceremony, my toddler pulled the fire alarm. Everyone had to evacuate the building. FML

Today, I went to my son’s final band performance. I also have a busy toddler, so I ended up watching most of the performance in the hallway on a tv monitor. In the middle of the awards ceremony, my toddler pulled the fire alarm. Everyone had to evacuate the building.FML
で「今日、息子の解散コンサートに行った。私にはじっとしていない幼児もいたので、演奏のほとんどを廊下のテレビモニターで見ることになった。表彰式の最中に、うちの幼児が火災警報器を鳴らした。観客全員が建物から非難しなければならなかった。F*ck my life!」という意味になります。

I went to my son’s final band performance. で「息子の最後のバンド演奏会に行った」です。
band performance は「バンドの演奏、上演、公演」という意味になります。
perform で「上演する、演奏する」、演じる」という意味になります。

I also have a busy toddler, so ～ で「私にはじっとしていない幼児もいる、なので～」となります。
toddler は「幼児」です。
大体2～4歳の子供です。
toddle で「よちよち歩く」という意味の動詞なので、
歩き出せるようになった赤ちゃんという意味合いになります。

so I ended up watching most of the performance in the hallway on a tv monitor. で
「なので、演奏のほとんどを廊下のテレビモニターで見ることになった」となります。
end up ～ing で「結局～することになる」という意味の言い回しです。
例：She ended up being happy.「最後には彼女は幸せになりました。」
in the hallway で「廊下で」となります。
hallway は「廊下、玄関の間」という意味の名詞です。
例：dash down a hallway「廊下を走る」

In the middle of the awards ceremony, my toddler pulled the fire alarm. で「授賞式の真っ最中、うちの幼児が火災報知機を鳴らした」です。
In the middle of ～ で「～のさなか、～の真っ最中」という意味の言い回しです。
awards ceremony で「授賞式」です。
award は「賞、賞金」という意味の名詞です。
pulled the fire alarm で「火災報知機を引く」です。
日本では、報知器は押しボタンが多いですが、アメリカでは、レバーを引き下げる形式が多いです。
ですので、alarm といえば、pull an alarm となります。

Everyone had to evacuate the building. で「全員が建物から非難しなければならなかった」です。
evacuate イヴァキュエイトゥは「～から非難する」という意味の動詞です。
例：evacuate the school 「学校から非難する」
from は付かないので注意しましょう。
名詞形は、evacuation イヴァキュエイション「非難」です。
避難訓練は、evacuation drill や emergency drill となります。
