Today, my son was looking through old photos and showed me a picture of myself and asked who it was. When I told him it was me, he responded by saying “But mommy, the lady in the picture is not fat!” FML

Today, my son was looking through old photos and showed me a picture of myself and asked who it was. When I told him it was me, he responded by saying “But mommy, the lady in the picture is not fat!” FML
で「今日、息子が昔の写真を見ていて、私が写った写真を私に見せて、これは誰？と聞いてきた。それは私だと彼に言ったら、彼はこう言って答えた。でもママ、この写真の女性は太ってないよ！F*ck my life!」という意味になります。

my son was looking through old photos で「息子が昔の写真を見ていた」です。
look through ～ で「～に目を通す、（始めから終わりまで）通して調べる」という意味の句動詞です。
この場合は、何枚もの写真に目を通していったということです。
例:look through a manual「マニュアルを調べる」

and showed me a picture of myself で「そして私に私自身が写った写真を見せた」です。
a picture of myself で「私自身が写った写真」です。

and asked who it was で「そしてそれが誰かを尋ねた」です。
ask who it is で「（それが）誰かを尋ねる」という意味の言い回しです。

When I told him it was me, で「私がそれは私だと息子に言ったら」です。
I told him (that) it was me です。

he responded by saying ～ で「彼は～と言って答えた」となります。
respond by saying ～ で「～と言うことによって返答する、～と言って答える」です。

“But mommy, the lady in the picture is not fat!” で「でもママ、この写真の女性は太ってないよ！」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

息子が古い写真を見ていた

and showed me a picture of myself
そして私が写った写真を見せてきて

and asked who it was.
これは誰かと尋ねた

When I told him it was me,
それは私だと息子に言ったら
