で「そしてこの時代の自己啓発書などを調べると、それらはみんな『品性－この世で最も崇高なるもの』的なタイトルでした。そしてそれらの本はアブラハム・リンカーンのような謙虚ででしゃばらないことで称賛された人物をロールモデルにしていました。」という意味になります。

And if you look at the self-help books from this era, で「そして、もしこの時代の自己啓発書を調べたら」です。
look at ～ で「～を見る」から「～を調べる」という意味もあります。
self-help book は直訳すると「自分を助ける本」ですので「自己啓発書」のことです。
「自己啓発」は他にも self-development, や personal development などとも言います。
from this era で「この時代から、この時代の中から」です。
era はイーラと発音して「（ある特定の）時代、年代」という意味です。
例：the Elizabethan era「エリザベス朝時代」、Peleolithic era「旧石器時代」

they all had titles with things like ～ で「それらはみな～というようなタイトルを持っていた」です。
they all had titles で「それらはみなタイトルだった」です。
they とはその時代の自己啓発書のことをさします。
things like ～ で「～のようなもの、～といったもの」です。

“Character, the Grandest Thing in the World.” で『品性－この世で最も崇高なるもの』です。
本のタイトルの例ですね。
character は「品性、立派な人格」という意味です。
例：man of character「人格者」

And they featured role models like Abraham Lincoln で「そしてそれらは模範的な人物を特に上げていた、リンカーンなどを」です。
feature フィーチャーと発音し「～を呼び物にする、特集する、主演にする、～を特徴とする」という意味の動詞です。
例：TV commercials featuring a famous actor「有名俳優を前面に出したテレビCM」
role models like Abraham Lincoln で「アブラハム・リンカーンのような模範的人物」です。
role model は「模範的人物」という意味です。
role ローォで「役割、役柄、役目」です。
Abraham Lincoln はアメリカの16代大統領ですね。

(who) was praised for ～ で「（そのリンカーンは）～と言うことで褒められた」です。
praise プレイズは「～を褒める」です。
praise ～ for … で「～を…だということで褒める」となります。

何で褒められたかというと、
(for) being modest and unassuming. で「謙虚で出しゃばらない（ところを）」です。
modest マデストゥは「謙虚な、腰の低い、控えめな」という意味の形容詞です。
unassuming アナ[ス]ーミングも同じような意味で「でしゃばらない」です。
un-（否定の接頭語）+ assuming（でしゃばった、傲慢な）という形です。
例：assuming eyes「傲慢な目つき」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
