で「同社が約10年、秘密裏に開発を続けてきているこのハードコンタクトレンズは拡張イメージオーバーレイを使って視力障害を持つ人達を助けるのにも使えるかもしれない。そして今、アメリカで医療機器としてテストするための承認を取得した。」という意味になります。

The rigid contact lens, which the company has been developing in stealth mode for some 10 years,「同社が約10年秘密裏に開発を続けてきている、このハードコンタクトレンズ」までが主語になります。
rigid contact lens で「ハードコンタクトレンズ」となります。
rigid [リ]ジッドゥは「曲がらない、硬い、融通が利かない」という意味の形容詞です。
例：rigid film「硬質膜」、rigid guideline「かたくなな方針」
(which) the company has been developing で「その会社が開発してきた（そのコンタクトレンズ）」です。
in stealth mode は「秘かなモードで」ですが、この場合は「秘密裏に、社外秘で」という意味合いですね。
for some 10 years で「約10年の間」です。
この場合の some は about と同じで「約、およそ」という意味になります。

may also be used to help people with visual impairments で「使われるかもしれない、視力障害を持つ人たちを助けるために」です。
be used to ～ で「～に使われる、～に利用される」です。
people with visual impairments で「視覚障害を持つ人々」となります。
impairment は「（人の機能）障害」という意味です。
動詞形は impair で「機能などを損なう、悪くする」です。
形容詞形は impaired インペアードゥ「障害のある」です。

by using enhanced image overlays で「拡張された画像の重ね合わせを使って」です。
enhanced エンハンストゥで「拡張された、改善された、さらに良くされた」という意味の形容詞です。
image overlay で「画像を上に重ねること、画像オーバーレイ」です。
このコンタクトレンズを使うと通常の視界に文字やアナウンスなどが表示されるようです。

and has obtained U.S. approval for testing it as a medical device. で「そして取得した、アメリカの承認を、それをテストするための、医療機器として」です。
obtain approval で「承認を得る」という意味の言い回しです。
approval for ～ で「～のための承認」です。
obtain アブテインは「（努力・計画して）得る、手に入れる」という意味の動詞です。
