で「今はまさに何か新しいことに挑戦する良い機会です。新型コロナウイルス感染症の大流行のために世界中の教育センターや学校が閉鎖する中で、親は、子供たちの頭を鈍らせないという課題を突き付けられています。それは今後数週間、数カ月も続く可能性もあります。」という意味になります。

Right now is an opportunity to try something new. で「今は良い機会だ、何か新しいことにトライするのに」です。
now が主語になっています。
例：Now is a good time to ～「～するには今が良い時期だ」
opportunity アパテュニティで「好機、良い機会、チャンス」という意味の名詞です。
例：opportunity for business「ビジネスのチャンス」
something new で「何か新しいこと」です。
something や anything の場合は形容詞が後に来ます。

With education centers and schools worldwide closing で「教育センターや学校が世界的に閉鎖している状況で」です。
with … ～ing で「…が～する中で、～する状況で」という意味になります。
with を伴った「付帯状況」の分詞構文（participal construction）です。
「education centers and schools が close する状況で」という意味です。
例：with his eyes closed「目を閉じながら」、with the phone ringing「電話が鳴ったままで」

because of the Covid-19 outbreak, で「新型コロナウイルス感染症の大流行のために」です。
covid-19 は「新型コロナウイルス感染症」です。
covid の語源（etymology）を調べてみると、
Co は Corona、Vi は Virus、D は Disease
からの造語で、WHOが今年2020年に名付けたそうです。

parents are presented with the challenge of ～ で「親たちは～を提示されている、～という課題を」です。
be presented with ～ で「～を提示される、～を突き付けられる」という意味になります。
present の元の意味は「目の前に提示する、その場に存在している」です。

どんな課題かというと、
the challenge of keeping their children sharp で「自分たちの子供をシャープに保っておくという課題」です。
要するに、長期休暇で子供の頭が鈍らないようにする、という事です。
sharp は「鋭い、尖っている、切れ味の良い」ですが、この場合は「賢い、頭のいい、明敏な」という意味です。
例：keep one’s memory sharp「記憶力が鈍らないようにする」

for the next few weeks and potentially for months. で「今後数週間、さもすると数か月間」です。
for the next few weeks で「今後数週間のあいだ」です。
for ～ は「～の間」という期間を表す前置詞。
and potentially for months. で「そして、潜在的には、数か月間」です。
potentially ポ・[テ]ン・シャ・リで「潜在的に」という意味の副詞です。
ようするに「もしかすると数か月になるかもしれない」といういことですね。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
