Were I called on to define, very briefly, the term Art, I should call it ‘the reproduction of what the Senses perceive in Nature through the veil of the soul.’ The mere imitation, however accurate, of what is in Nature, entitles no man to the sacred name of ‘Artist.’

で「もし芸術という言葉を極めて手短に定義せよと求められたら、私は、それを、人間の感性が、魂のベールを通して、自然の中で感知したものの複製物と呼ぶだろう。自然に存在する物の単なる模造（正確ではあるが）をもってして、誰しも芸術家などという神聖な名前を与えられるものではない。」という意味になります。

Were I called on to define, で「もし私が～を定義しろと求められたら」となります。
Were I ～ は仮定法の倒置表現で、If I were ～ と同じです。
仮定法表現ではよく倒置や省略がおこるのでしっかり覚えておきましょう。
Were ～, Had ～, Shoud ～ などが文頭に来たら仮定法の可能性大です。

define the term Art で「芸術という言葉を定義する」です。
term は、実にさまざまな意味を持っていますがここでは「言葉、用語」です。

I should call it ‘the reproduction of ～ で「わたしはそれを～の複製物と呼ぶだろう」です。
reproduction は「複製、コピー、再現」です。
また「（生物の）繁殖、生殖」という意味もあります。子孫を作って自分の複製を作るというイメージです。
例：reproduction painting「複製画」、reproduction right「複製権」、reproductive ability「生殖能力」

何の複製・コピーかというと、
(the reproduction of) what the Senses perceive in Nature で「感性が感知したもの、自然の中で」です。
the Senses とは「人間の五感」です。
perceive は「～を感知する、～を認識する、～を受け止める、～を把握する」です。
through the veil of the soul で「魂のベールを通して」です。
soul「魂、心、感情」のフィルター（veil）を通して、という事ですね。

The mere imitation of what is in Nature, までが主語で「単なる模造品、自然の中にあるものの」です。
however accurate, で「とは言え正確ではあるが」です。

entitles no man to the sacred name of ‘Artist.’ で「どんな人にも神聖な芸術家という称号を与えられるものではない」です。
entitle ～ to … で「～に…への資格を与える」です。
例：entitle someone to a pension「（人に）年金を受け取る権利を与える」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
