Woods underwent a long surgical procedure で「ウッズは、～を受けた、長時間の外科手術を」です。
underwent は undergo の過去形です。
undergo ～ で「（つらい経験や変化、手術など）～を経験する、～を受ける」という意味です。
例：undergo a gender change「性転換をする」、undergo a great change「大きな変化を遂げる」
surgical procedure on ～ で「～の部分への外科手術」です。
surgical は「手術の、外科の」という意味の形容詞です。
例：surgical mask「外科手術用マスク」、surgical bed「手術台」
同じ語源の派生語 surgeon サージョンは「外科医、執刀医」となります。

lower leg とは膝から足首までの部分（下腿）を指します。

suffer from ～ という言い方もありますが、
今回は他動詞 suffer ～ で「（損害や損傷など）～を被る、～を受ける」です。
orthopedic injuries で「整形外科的な損傷」です。
orthopedic オーソ[ピ]ーディクで「整形外科の」という意味の形容詞です。
名詞形は orthopedics で「整形外科」、orthopedist で「整形外科医」となります。
例：orthopedic clinic「接骨院」、orthopedic surgeon「整形外科医」
