フェルマーの最終定理を証明した数学者であるアンドリュー・ワイルズの言葉です。

で「我々はは長い間ずっと一緒だったものを失ってしまった。そしてそれは多くの我々を数学の世界に引きずり込んだ。しかしたぶん、数学の問題というものは常にそういうものなのだ。我々の関心を集める新たな問題を見つけなければならない。」という意味になります。

フェルマーの最終定理とは、17世紀にフェルマーという裁判官が残した数学の難問のことです。
1995年にアンドリュー・ワイルズが証明に成功します。
この一文は、330年もの間、謎だったフェルマーの最終定理がとうとう証明された時の言葉ですね。

We’ve lost something that ～ で「私たちは失ってしまった、～なものを」です。
something that ～ で「～なもの」という意味の言い回しです。
どんなものかというと、
(that) has been with us for so long で「私たちと長い間ずっと一緒にいた（もの）」です。
フェルマーの最終定理のことを指しています。

and something that ～ で「また、～なものを」です。
(that) drew a lot of us into mathematics で「私たちの多くを、数学に引き込んだ」です。
draw ～ into … で「～を…に引き込む、引きずり込む」という意味の言い回しです。
draw ドゥロゥで「引く、線を引く」という意味の動詞です。
溝を引いて水を引き込んだり、線を引くように人を誘導したり、そんなイメージです。

mathematics マ・セ・[マ]・ティクスは「数学」という意味の名詞です。
語尾に -s が付いていますが単数扱いとなります。
後に出てくる math も同じ意味です。maths という場合もあります。

But ～「しかし～」
perhaps that’s always the way with math problems, で「たぶん、それはいつものことだ、数学の問題にとっては」です。
that’s always the way with ～ で「～というものはいつもそんなものだ」です。
例：As is often the way with ～,「～にはよくあることだが」

and we just have to find ～ で「そして、私たちはとにかく～を見つけるしかない」です。
just have to ～ で「～するしかない、とにかく～しなければ」です。

find new ones で「あたしいそれを（見つけなければ）」です。
ones は math problems を指しています。

to capture our attention. で「私たちの関心を集める（新しい数学の問題を）」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
