We draw their blood, we scan their brains, we talk to their children. We videotape them talking with their wives about their deepest concerns. And when, about a decade ago, we finally asked the wives if they would join us as members of the study, many of the women said, “You know, it’s about time.”

で「我々は、彼らから採血し脳をスキャンします。彼らの子供たちとも話をします。彼らが妻たちと最も深刻な内容の話をするところもビデオ撮影します。そして、10年位前に、私たちはついに彼らの妻たちにもこう尋ねてみました。あなたたちもこの研究の一員として参加しませんかと。彼女たちの多くがこう答えました。『いつ誘ってくれるかと待ってたわ。』」という意味になります。

We draw their blood, we scan their brains, で「我々は、彼らから採血し、我々は彼らの脳をスキャンします」です。
draw blood で「採血をする」という意味になります。
draw は「（ゆっくり）引く、線を描く、引き出す」という意味の動詞です。

we talk to their children. で「我々は、彼らの子供たちと話をします。」です。
talk to ～ は「～に話しかける、～と話をする」という意味です。

We videotape them talking with ～ で「彼らが～と話しているところをビデオ撮影する」です。
videotape ～ は「～をビデオテープで撮影する」と動詞として使われています。
どんなところを撮影するかというと、
talking with their wives about their deepest concerns. で「彼らの妻たちと話すところを、一番深い懸念について」です。
their deepest concerns とは、深刻な家族内の問題などのことでしょう。
concern は「心配、懸念」です。

And when, about a decade ago, で「そして、～の時、約10年くらい前」
we finally asked the wives if ～ で「私たちはついに、彼らの妻たちに～かどうか尋ねた」です。
ask if ～ で「～かどうかを聞く」ですね。

何を尋ねたかというと、
(if) they would join us as members of the study, で「彼女たちが参加する（かどうか）、その研究のメンバーとして」です。
members of the study「その研究の一員」とは、要するに夫たちと同じ「被験者」ということです。

many of the women said, “You know, it’s about time.” で「その女性たちの多くが言った、『待ってたわ』と」です。
it’s about time は慣用句で「やっとだ」という意味合いです。
もっと前にすべきだった、という意味も含まれています。
finally とも言えます。
例：It’s about time you came.「やっと来たね。」

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

我々は彼らから採血します

we scan their brains,
彼らの脳をスキャンします

we talk to their children.
彼らの子供たちとも話をします

We videotape them talking with their wives
彼らが妻たちと話し合うところもビデオ撮影します

about their deepest concerns.
最も深刻な心配事について

And when, about a decade ago,
また～の時、10年ほど前

we finally asked the wives if
我々がやっと彼らの妻たちに～かどうか尋ねた時

they would join us as members of the study,
彼女たちも研究の一員として参加しないかと

many of the women said,
その女性たちの多くが言いました

“You know, it’s about time.”
そう言ってくれるのを待ってたわと

今度は「頭の中で」一行ずつ日本語に訳しながら…
