shameless で「恥知らずな、厚かましい」という意味の形容詞です。

And I think (that) ～「そして私は～だと思う」
part of what made the Macintosh great was that ～ で「マックを素晴らしくしたことの一部は～ということだった」です。
part of what made the Macintosh great までが主語で名詞句となっています。
part of what ～ で「～なことの一部」です。
what made the Macintosh great で「マッキントッシュを素晴らしくしているもの」でという意味になります。
make ～ … で「～を…の状態にする」です。
that節で受けて、
was that ～「は、～ということ、だった」です。

どういうことだったかというと、
(that) the people working on it were musicians and ～「それに従事していた人々が音楽家や～、だったこと」です。
the people working on it が主語です。
it は Macintosh を指しています。
work on ～ で「～に取り組む、～に従事する」という意味の言い回しです。

musicians and poets and artists and zoologists, and historians, で「音楽家や詩人や芸術家や、動物学者や歴史家（だった）」です。
poet [ポ]エトゥは「詩人」、「詩」は poem となります。

who also happened to be ～ で「（それらの人々が）たまたま同時に～だった」です。
happen to ～ は「たまたま～する」という意味の言い回しですね。
例：just happened to be there「たまたまそこに居合わせた」
the best computer scientists in the world. で「世界で最も優秀なコンピューターサイエンティスト（だった）」です。
つまり、実際に音楽家や詩人たちがマックを開発したわけではなく、開発した computer scientists が、音楽や詩や芸術にも関心の高い人々だったということです。
