Before success comes in any man’s life, he’s sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That’s exactly what the majority of men do.

Before success comes in any man’s life, he’s sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That’s exactly what the majority of men do.
で「どんな人でも人生に成功が舞い込む前には、その人は必ず一時的な大きい挫折（または失敗かもしれない）に遭遇する。挫折に襲われたとき、最も簡単で理に適った対処法はそれを辞めることだ。大多数の人がやっていること（犯している間違い）はまさにそれなのである。」という意味になります。
Before success comes in any man’s life で「～の前に、成功が舞い込む、どんな人の人生にでも」です。
he’s sure to meet with ～ で「その人は必ず～に出くわす」です。
he は先ほどの any man を受けています。
be sure to ～ で「必ず～する」という意味のコロケーション。
meet with ～ で「～に遭遇する」です。
much temporary defeat で「多くの一時的な挫折、敗北」です。
名詞 defeat は可算・不可算どちらでも使えるようですが、ここではmuchを使って不可算名詞になっていますね。
and, perhaps some failures. で「そして、たぶん何度かの失敗に」
When defeat overtakes a man, で「挫折が人を飲み込むとき」です。
overtake は「～に追いつく、（災難などが）～を不意に襲う」という意味の動詞。
the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. で「最も簡単で最も理に適ったやり方は、辞めることだ」です。
logical で「合理的な、理論的な」です。
thing to do で「やること、すること」です。
That’s exactly what the majority of men do. で「それこそがまさに～なことだ、大部分の人がやっている（こと）」です。
That’s exactly what ～ で「それこそまさに～なことである」という意味の強調したいときのストラクチャー（構文）です。
つまり、辞めてしまうこと（to quit）は多くの人がやってしまう失敗であり、
成功する人は粘り強く我慢して次に来る成功を手にできる、ということですね。
それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
