So where I started was with connection. Because, by the time you’re a social worker for 10 years, what you realize is that connection is why we’re here. It’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives. This is what it’s all about.

So where I started was with connection. Because, by the time you’re a social worker for 10 years, what you realize is that connection is why we’re here. It’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives. This is what it’s all about.
で「そこで、私が最初に取り組んだのは『人とのつながり』でした。というのも、ソーシャルワーカーとして10年も働いていると、気づくことがあるんです。それは、私たちがここにいる理由は、人とつながるためだということです。人とのつながりこそが、私たちの人生に目的や意味を与えてくれる。結局のところ、すべてはそこなんです。」という意味になります。

So ～「ですので～」
where I started was with connection.「私が始めた場所は、つながりからでした。」
where I started は「最初に取り組んだところ、出発点」という意味の言い回しです。
start with ～ で「～から始める」という意味。
例：start with a beer「まずはビールから始める」、start with a greeting「挨拶から始める」

Because ～「なぜなら～」
, by the time you’re a social worker for 10 years,「ソーシャルワーカーを10年間していると」
by the time ～ で「～までになると、～する頃には」という意味の接続詞的用法。
what you realize is that ～「あなたが気付くことは～ということだ」
connection is why we’re here.「人とのつながりこそが私たちがここにいる理由だ（ということ）」

It’s what ～「それは～するものだ」
(what) gives purpose and meaning to our lives.「私たちの人生に目的や意味を与える（もの）」

This is ～「このことが～」
what it’s all about はほぼ決まり文句で「本質、大事なこと」という意味です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
