As an adolescent, I was painfully shy, withdrawn. I didn’t really have the nerve to sing my songs on stage, and nobody else was doing them. I decided to do them in disguise so that I didn’t have to actually go through the humiliation of going on stage and being myself.

As an adolescent, I was painfully shy, withdrawn. I didn’t really have the nerve to sing my songs on stage, and nobody else was doing them. I decided to do them in disguise so that I didn’t have to actually go through the humiliation of going on stage and being myself.
で「若い時、僕はひどくシャイで引っ込み思案だった。自分の曲をステージで歌う度胸なんてなかったし、でもそれを歌ってくれる人もいなかった。それで僕は変装してステージで歌うことにした。ステージに立つ恥ずかしさと自分をさらけ出すことを実際にはしなくてもいいように。」という意味になります。

As an adolescent で「若い時」という意味になります。
adolescent は「青年期、思春期」なので、未成年・１０代という意味です。

I was painfully shy, withdrawn. で「私はとてもシャイで、ひきこもりだった」です。
painfully は「ひどく、すごく、とても」という意味の副詞です。
painful で「痛い」なので、「痛々しいくらいに」というイメージですね。
withdrawn は withdraw の過去分詞形で「ひきこもった、人とあまりかかわらない、引っ込み思案の、内向的な」という意味になります。

I didn’t really have the nerve to sing my songs on stage で「自分の曲をステージで歌う度胸は全くなかった」です。
have the nerve to ～ で「～する度胸がある、～するずぶとさを持ち合わせる」という意味の慣用句です。
例：have the nerve to be late every day「毎日遅刻してくるほど図太い神経を持っている」

and nobody else was doing them で「それにそれをしてれる人は一人もいなかった」です。

I decided to do them in disguise で「私は決めた、それをすることを、変装して」です。
in disguise で「変装して、扮装して」という意味の言い回しです。
disguise ディス・[ガ]イズは名詞では「変装、扮装、変装用衣装」という意味です。動詞では「変装する」です。

so that I didn’t have to actually go through the humiliation of going on stage and being myself で「実際にはステージに立つ辱めと自分を晒す経験しなくて済むように」となります。
so that ～ は「～なように、～するように、～できるように」という意味の接続詞です。

I didn’t have to actually で「実際には～しなくてもいい」です。
何をしなくてもいいのかというと、
go through the humiliation of going on stage で「ステージに立つ屈辱を経験し（なくてもいいように）」です。
go through ～ は「困難やつらい経験などを体験する、経験する」という意味の句動詞です。
humiliation ヒューミリエイションは「辱め、恥ずかしさ、屈辱」です。
go on stage は「舞台に立つ、ステージに立つ」という意味の慣用句です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
