TED-Edより「傷つく心の力（The Power of Vulnerability）」です。

So, I’ll start with this: a couple years ago, an event planner called me because I was going to do a speaking event. And she called, and she said, “I’m really struggling with how to write about you on the little flyer.” And I thought, “Well, what’s the struggle?” And she said, “Well, I saw you speak, and I’m going to call you a researcher, I think, but I’m afraid if I call you a researcher, no one will come, because they’ll think you’re boring and irrelevant.”

So, I’ll start with this: a couple years ago, an event planner called me because I was going to do a speaking event. And she called, and she said, “I’m really struggling with how to write about you on the little flyer.” And I thought, “Well, what’s the struggle?” And she said, “Well, I saw you speak, and I’m going to call you a researcher, I think, but I’m afraid if I call you a researcher, no one will come, because they’ll think you’re boring and irrelevant.”
で「では、こんな話から始めます。数年前、あるイベントプランナーから電話がありました。私は講演イベントに出る予定だったんです。彼女は電話でこう言いました。『あなたのことを小さなチラシでどう紹介したらいいか、すごく悩んでいるんです。』 私は思いました。『え、何をそんなに悩むの？』すると彼女は言いました。『あなたの講演を見て、“研究者”と紹介しようと思っているんですが、“研究者”と書いたら、誰も来ないんじゃないかと心配で。みんな、あなたのことを退屈で、自分たちには関係ない人だと思ってしまうかもしれないから。』」という意味になります。

So,「では～」
I’ll start with this:「まずこの話で始めたいと思います。」です。
体験談を語り始める導入ですね。
a couple years ago,「２～３年前」
an event planner called me「あるイベントプランナーさんが私に電話してきました」
because I was going to do a speaking event.「講演会をやることになっていたので」です。
do a speaking event「講演会をやる、講演をする」

And she called,「彼女が電話してきまして」
and she said, 「それで～と言ったんです」
“I’m really struggling with ～「今すごく～で悩んでいるんです。」です。
struggle with ～ で「～と悪戦苦闘する、もがきながら努力する」です。
(with) how to write about you「あなたについてどう書くか（について）」
on the little flyer.”「小さなチラシに」です。
つまり講演会のチラシのことですね。

And I thought,「で私は思いました」
“Well, what’s the struggle?”「え？何を悩んでるの？」です。
struggle はこちらでは名詞で「苦闘、奮闘、骨折り」
And she said, 「彼女が言いました」
“Well, I saw you speak,「うん、私はあなたが話しているところを拝見して」
see + 人 + 動詞の原形 で「人が〜するのを見る」です。
知覚動詞（see, hear, feelなど）の場合は、後ろの動詞が原型になります。

, and ～「それで～」
I’m going to call you a researcher, I think,「私はあなたを研究者と呼ぼうと思っているのです」
こちらの call は「電話する」ではなく、
call ～ … で「～を…と呼ぶ」です。

but ～「でも～」
I’m afraid (that) ～「～ではないかと思うのです。」です。
I’m afraid は「～ではないかと思う」と、心配・ネガティブなことを言う時に使う言い回し。
if I call you a researcher,「もし私があなたを研究者と呼んだら」
no one will come,「誰も講演会に来ない（んじゃないか）」
because they’ll think ～「なぜなら、みんな～だと思うから」
you’re boring and irrelevant.”「あなたが退屈で、自分には関係ないと（思うから）」です。
boring で「退屈な、つまらない」という意味の形容詞。
irrelevant は「一般の人にとって無関係な、実生活では役に立たない」という意味の形容詞。
ir-（否定）＋ relevantで「関係のある、今日的な意味を帯びている、現実の問題に直結する」です。
つまり「研究者」はアカデミック・高尚すぎて、一般の人にはあまりウケが良くない、ということですね。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

イベントプランナーさんが電話してきまして

because
～だから

I was going to do a speaking event.
私が講演をする予定だったので
