Americans are commemorating the 25th anniversary of 9/11,
the shock,「そのショック(衝撃)を」
the dead「死者たちを」
and ~「そして~」
the sweeping consequences of the al-Qaida attacks「アルカイダの攻撃の広範囲にわたる影響を」です。
(attacks) on symbols of U.S. might and prosperity.
Friday’s milestone anniversary「
The new year will bring many changes.「新年には多くの変化が起こるだろう。」
moments of silence,「黙祷」
and readings of victims’ names —「犠牲者たちの名前の読み上げ」です。
and ~「そして」
in tribute to a day that ~ で「~な日に敬意を表して」です。
a day (that) about half of U.S. adults remember as ~ で「成人アメリカ人のおよそ半数が~として記憶している(日)」です。
(as) the most historic event of their lifetime,
