で「約一年前、私はがんと診断されました。その日の朝7時半にスキャンを受け、膵臓にくっきりと腫瘍が見つかりました。」という意味になります。

a year ago で「一年前」という意味になります。
about は「約、およそ」という意味の副詞です。

I was diagnosed with cancer で「私はがんと診断された」です。
be diagnosed with ～ で「～と診断される」という意味の言い回しです。
be diagnosed as ～ とも言えます。
diagnose ダイアグノウズは「（医者が）診断する」という意味の動詞です。
名詞形は diagnosis ダイアグノウシス「診断、診断結果」です。

have a scan で「スキャンを受ける」です。
scan は「Ｘ線検査」X-ray scan のことですね。

it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas で「それはくっきりと私の膵臓に腫瘍を映した」です。
it は scan のこと。
tumor テューモァーは「腫瘍」です。
malignant tumor で「悪性腫瘍、」、benign tumor で「良性の腫瘍」です。
benign ビナイン。
pancreas パンクリアスは「膵臓」です。
人体の臓器はよく使われるので、できるだけ覚えておくと便利です。

肝臓= liver
腎臓= kidney
脾臓= spleen
大腸= intestine, large bowel
小腸= intestine, small bowel
肺 = lung

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

私はがんと診断された

I had a scan
私はスキャンを受けた

at 7:30 in the morning,
その日の朝7時半に

and
そして

it clearly showed
それははっきりと写した
