サイモン・シネック氏によるTEDスピーチ「優れたリーダーはどうやって行動を促すか」です。
The reason that person bought the iPhone in the first six hours, stood in line for six hours, was because of what they believed about the world, and how they wanted everybody to see them: they were first. People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.

で「最初の6時間に、6時間列に並んで iPhone を買う理由は、彼らが世界について信じていることのためです。そして皆に自分をどう見てもらいたいかの為なのです。自分たちが一番乗りだと見て欲しいのです。 人は『何』ににお金を出すのではありません。『なぜ』にお金を出すのです。」に動かされるのです」という意味になります。

The reason ～ is because … の形です。
「～の理由は…だから」となります。
何の理由かというと、
The reason that person bought the iPhone in the first six hours, stood in line for six hours, で「人がiPhoneを買う理由、最初の6時間に、6時間も並んで」です。
was because of what they believed about the world で「は～のためだ、彼らが世界について信じていること（のためだ）」です。
what they believed about the world で「彼らが世界について信じていること」です。
意訳すれば「世界の中での自分の価値観」です。
6時間も並んで最初にiPhoneを買う人は、自分の独自の価値観を守るためにやっているのだということです。
and how they wanted everybody to see them: で「そして皆に自分をどう見てもらいたいか（のため）」です。
先ほどの because of ～ に、さらにつながる部分です。
want ～ to … で「～に…してほしい」となります。
例：I want you to be happy.「私はあなたに幸せになってほしい」
: they were first. で「（つまりは）自分たちが一番なのだと（みて欲しいのだ）」です。
:（コロン）の使い方に注目してみましょう。
この場合は「つまり、要するに、言い換えれば」という同列の意味で使われていますね。
それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。

人がiPhoneを買う理由は
in the first six hours,
（発売後の）最初の6時間に
stood in line for six hours,
6時間も列に並んで
was because of
～のためだった
what they believed about the world,
彼らが世界についてどう信じているか（自分の価値観）
and how they wanted everybody to see them:
そして皆からどう見られたいか
they were first.
つまりは自分たちが一番乗りなのだと
People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.
人は『何』ににお金を出すのでなく『なぜ』にお金を出すのです
