Maybe we can’t just erase ～ で「たぶん私たちは～を消し去ることはできないでしょう」です。
erase イレイスで「～を消しさる、拭い去る」という意味の動詞です。
eraser イレイサー「消しゴム、黒板拭き」でお馴染みです。

何を消し去るかというと、
500 years of rational humanistic thought で「500年の合理的な人間中心的思想」です。
rational [ラ]ショナォで「合理的な、道理にかなった」という意味の形容詞です。
例：rational being「理性的な生き物」
thought ソートゥはこの場合は名詞で「思考、思想」です。

in one 18 minute speech で「一回の18分のスピーチの中で」です。

And there’s probably people in this audience (who ～) で「また、たぶん、この聴衆の中に、～な人もいるでしょう」です。
in this audience で「この聴衆の中に」です。
people who ～ で「～な人達」です。

どんな人達かというと、
(who) would raise really legitimate scientific suspicions about ～ で「～についての実にもっともな科学的疑念を挙げる（人）」です。
raise suspicious で「疑念を抱く」という意味の言い回しです。
raise レイズは「～を上げる、～を引き起こす、惹起する」という意味です。
suspicious は「疑念、疑惑」という意味の名詞です。
動詞形は suspect サス[ペ]クトゥ「～を疑わしく思う」です。
legitimate は「合法的な、適法な」という意味の形容詞ですが、この場合は「もっともな、筋の通った、正当な」という意味合いです。

何につての疑念かというと、
(about) the notion of fairies (who ～) で「～する妖精たちという考え（概念）」についてです。

何をする妖精かというと、
(who) follow people around rubbing fairy juice on their projects and stuff. で「人々について回って、妖精の汁を人々のプロジェクトなどに塗り付ける（妖精たち）」です。
follow people around で「人々について回る」です。
rub ～ on … で「～に…を塗り込む」です。
fairy juice は「妖精の汁」ですが、
要するに「何でもうまくいく魔法の液体」といった意味合いです。
on their projects and stuff で「彼らのプロジェクトや何やかやに」です。
and stuff は「～など」という意味の言い回しです。
and so on や etc. , and so forth, and things like that などいろいろな言い方ががあります。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
