A landslide occurred Saturday in northeastern Japan, で「土砂崩れが起きた、土曜日に、日本の東北地方で」です。
landslide で「土砂崩れ、地滑り」です。
in northeastern Japan で「東北地方で」となります。

destroying or damaging about 10 buildings and leaving two people missing, で「破壊または損傷させ、およそ10棟を、そして二人を行方不明にして」です。
分詞構文で「～しながら、～しつつ」という意味になっています。
destroying, damaging, leaving　の意味上の主語は the landslide です。
leave ～ … の形で「～を…の状態のままにしておく」という意味の言い回し。
例：Just leave me alone.「いいから放っておいてくれ。一人にしてくれ。」
ここでは two people「二人」を、missing「行方不明の（状態に）」しておく、です。

police and firefighters said. で「警察消防が言った」です。said はニュース文脈でよく使われますが「発表した」という意味合いです。

Police requested that ～ で「警察は～するように要請した」
that節内に入り、
(that) the Self-Defense Forces conduct ～ で「自衛隊が～を実施するように」です。
the Self-Defense Forces で「（日本の）自衛隊（SDF）」です。
conduct と原型になっているのは、request の that節なので、仮定法現在になっています。

for the missing people で「その行方不明の人たちを（探して）」です。
for ～ は search for ～ などのように「～を求めて（探す）」という意味合いの前置詞。
, according to some accounts, は挿入的に「いくつかの証言によると、」
who are in their 70s to 80s. で「（その行方不明者は）70代、80代である」です。
in one’s ～0s で「～十代の」という意味のよく使われるコロケーションですね。
