で「米連邦政府の独禁法取締官たちは長年、大手テック企業に狙いを定めてきた。今週ついに彼らは、現代ネット時代の初の法廷闘争における口火を切った。米司法省は、38州の司法長官たちとともに、グーグルがネット検索の独占を悪用し、巨利を引き出し、競争をもみ消し、技術革新を遅らせようとしていると告訴した。」という意味になります。

America’s trustbusters で「米連邦政府の独禁法取締官たち」です。
trust で「トラスト、企業合同」、buster で「撲滅する人」
have long had their sights set on ～ で「長年～に狙いをつけてきた」です。
have long done ～ の形で「長年～してきた」という意味のコロケーション。現在完了形に long が挟まった形です。
have one’s sights set on ～ で「自分の照準を～に set on する」で「～に狙いをつける」という意味になっています。
sight は「（銃や測量器の）目標、狙い、照準器」という意味があります。
big tech は「大手テクノロジー企業」という意味になります。
tech giants などとも言えます。

This week at last で「今週、ついに」
fired their opening shots で「始まりの射撃を放った」です。
fire は「銃やミサイルなどを撃つ、発射する」という意味の動詞。
ここでは主語 They が省略されていますが、 America’s trustbusters のことですね。
in the first courtroom battle で「初の法廷闘争において」です。
courtroom コートゥルームは「法廷」、courtroom battle で「法廷での争い、法廷闘争」
of the modern internet era. で「現代インターネット時代の（法廷闘争）」です。
era [イ]ーラは「～時代」という意味の名詞。
例：Cretaceous era「白亜紀」、era of Heian「平安時代」

The Department of Justice (DoJ), で「アメリカ司法省」となります。DoJ と省略されることが多いです。
, along with 38 state attorneys-general, で「38州の司法長官たちと一緒に」です。
along with ～ で「～と一緒に、～とともに、～と連動して」
attorney-general は「司法長官、法務大臣」という意味になります。

has accused Google of ～ で「グーグルを～のことで糾弾した」です。
accuse ～ of … で「～を…のことで糾弾する、非難する、告訴する」という意味のコロケーションです。
何のことで告訴したかというと、
(of) abusing its online-search monopoly で「グーグルのネット検索の独占を悪用していること」です。
abuse ～ で「～を悪用する、～を乱用する」です。
its は Google を指して、its online-search monopoly で「同社のネット検索の独占状態」です。

to extract bigger profits, で「より大きな利益を引き出すために」です。
extract は「～を引き出す、抜き出す、抽出する」という意味の動詞。
さらに、snuff out competition で「競争をもみ消す（ために）」です。
snuff out は「～をもみ消す、ろうそくなどの火を消す」です。
and「そして」
slow innovation. で「イノベーションを遅らせる（ために）」です。
～, ～ and ～ の列挙形式になっています。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
