で「量子コンピューターは、量子力学の奇妙な物理法則を利用して、ある種の計算を驚異的な速さで処理する。通常の “古典的な” コンピューターなら何十億年もかかるような作業でも、わずか数時間で片づけてしまう可能性がある。その中には、暗号の解読も含まれる。近い将来、クレジットカード情報からきわどい写真に至るまで、あらゆる情報を安全かつ秘密に送信できるようにしている暗号化方式が、もはや安全に使えなくなるかもしれない。幸いなことに、その解決策はすでに存在している。」という意味になります。
Quantum computers で「量子コンピューター」です。
exploit the weird physics of quantum mechanics で「量子力学の奇妙な物理法則を利用する」です。
exploit ～ で「（利益を得るために）～をうまく利用する」です。
exploit は、人や弱い立場、弱点などを目的語にすると「～を搾取する、～につけ込む」という否定的な意味になることがよくあります。
一方で、技術・資源・機会・自然現象などを目的語にする場合は「～を効果的に利用する、～をうまく活用する」という中立的な意味でも使われます。
例：exploit an opportunity「機会をうまく利用する」
weird は「奇妙な」
physics [フィ]ズィクス「物理学、物理法則、物理特性」です。
quantum mechanics で「量子力学」です。
それを利用して、
to perform some types of calculations で「あるタイプの計算を行う」です。
perform a calculation で「計算を行う」という意味のコロケーション。
at breathtaking speed.「息をのむほどのスピードで」です。
breathtaking は「ハッとするほどの、息をのむような、驚異的な」という意味の形容詞。
at ～ speed で「～な速さで」という意味のコロケーションです。
Jobs that would take ordinary, “classical” computers billions of years までが主語で「通常の古典的なコンピューターなら何十億年もかかるような作業」です。
Jobs that ～ で「～な仕事、～な作業」です。
take 人 + 時間 で「（その人が）～するのに…時間かかる」という意味の言い回し。
例：It takes me 10 minutes to get to the station.「駅まで（私が行くのに）10分かかる。」
ここでは、
ordinary, “classical” computers が（人）の部分に当たって「通常の古典的なコンピューター」です。
ordinary は「ありふれた、通常の、普通の」
billions of years で「何十億年」です。
そんな作業（Jobs）でも、
might be polished off in just a few hours. で「ほんの数時間でさっと終わらせられるかもしれない」です。
polish off ～ で「～を簡単に片づける、さっと終わらせる」という意味の句動詞です。
That includes cracking codes. で「それには暗号の解読が含まれる。」です。
That は先ほどの、何十億年もかかるような作業、を指しています。
crack a code で「暗号を解読する」という意味になります。
crack は「～にひびを入れる」と意味から「（金庫やパスワードなど）～を破る」という意味になりました。
Some day soon,「近い将来のいつか」
the encryption methods that permit everything from credit-card details to racy photos to be securely and privately transmitted までが主語で「クレジットカード情報からきわどい写真に至るまで、あらゆる情報を安全かつ秘密に送信できるようにしている暗号化手法」です。
the encryption methods で「暗号化手法、暗号化方式」です。
encryption で「暗号化」という意味の名詞。
動詞形は encrypt で「～を暗号化する」です。
どんな暗号化方式かというと、
(that) permit ～ to be transmitted で「～を送信できるようにしている（暗号化方式）」
permit ～ to do … で「～が…するのを可能にする」という意味の言い回しです。
permit は「～を許可する、許す、可能にする」という意味の動詞。
例：The city permitted the product to be sold.「市はその商品の販売を許可した。」
そして、permit の後の、～の部分に入るのが、
everything from credit-card details to racy photos で「クレジットカードの詳細から際どい写真まであらゆるもの」です。
racy レイスィーは「（性的描写が）際どい、いやらしい」という意味の形容詞。
to be securely and privately transmitted で「安全かつ秘密に送信（できるようにする）」です。
privately は「プライバシーを保って、人に見られずに」という意味の副詞です。
そのような暗号化方式も、
may no longer be safe to use. で「もはや安全に使えるものではないかもしれない。」です。
量子コンピューターの処理が高速すぎるので、そんな従来の暗号化方式は突破されてしまう、ということです。
The good news is that a fix already exists. で「よい知らせは、解決法が既に存在する、ということだ。」です。
fix はここでは名詞で「解決法」です。
例：a quick fix「手っ取り早い解決法」
