安土桃山時代の禅僧 沢庵宗彭の言葉です。
Although wisdom is called immovable, this does not signify any insentient thing, like wood or stone; it moves as the mind is wont to move – forward or back, to the left, to the right, in the ten directions and to the eight points; and the mind that does not stop at all is called immovable wisdom.

で「智慧は『不動』と言われるが、それは木や石のように、感覚もなく動かないものを意味するのではない。智慧は、心が本来動くように動く。前へも後ろへも、左へも右へも、十方へ、そして八方へと自在に動く。そして、どこにも少しも留まることのない心、それを『不動の智慧』と呼ぶのだ。」という意味になります。
Although ～「～だけれど、～ではあるが」
wisdom is called immovable,「智慧は不動と言われる（が）」です。
wisdom で「智慧、知恵」です。
immovable で「動かせない、動かされない」という意味の形容詞。
例：immovable heart「不動心」、immovable laws of nature 「確固たる自然法」
this does not signify ～ で「このことは、～を表しているものではない」
signify ～ で「～を示す、～の表れである、～を意味する」という意味の動詞。
sign「しるし、標識、合図」と同じ語源を持つ語です。
何を表さないのかというと、
any insentient thing, like wood or stone で「感覚のないもの、木や石のような」です。
insentient イン[セ]ンシェントゥで「知覚のない、感覚のない」という意味の形容詞。
対義語の sentient は「感覚のある、知覚を持つ」です。
例：all sentient beings「生きとし生けるもの、一切衆生」
セミコロン（;）は、ここでは but の意味合いで前後の文の対象関係を表します。
it moves「それは動く」
as the mind is wont to move「意識（心）が常として動くように」です。
it は先述の wisdom を指しています。
is wont to ～ で「〜するのが常である、〜するのを習わしとしている」という意味の古い言い回しです。
かなり硬い響きや古風なニュアンスを持つ表現です。
– forward or back,「前に、また、後ろに」
to the left, to the right,「左に、右に」
in the ten directions「十方に」
and to the eight points;「八方に」です。
and ～「また～」
the mind that does not stop at all が主語で「まったく止まらない心」です。
is called immovable wisdom.「不動の知恵と言う。」です。
mind は「精神、意識、考え、思考」という意味。
日本語では「心」と訳せる場合もありますが、これは必ずしも「感情」という意味ではないことに注意しましょう。

このように mind と emotions は別のものとして対比されることもあります。
mind は主に思考・意識・判断など、head 側の精神活動を表し、感情を象徴する heart とはニュアンスが異なります。
ちなみにこの英文の原典である日本語は以下です。
「不動とは、うごかずといふ文字にて候。智は智慧の智にて候。……向ふへも左へも右へも、十方八方へ心は動き度きやうに動きながら、卒度も止まらぬ心を不動智と申し候。」
それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
