personality は「人格、人となり」という意味です。
例：a difficult personality「気難しい性格」

be shaped by ～ で「～によって形作られる、形成される」です。

somewhat は「いくぶん、やや」と言う意味の副詞です。

temperament [テ]ンペラメントも personality に近い意味ですが「気性、気質」という意味合いです。
例：
nervous temperament「神経質」
sweet temperament「気質がやさしい」
