It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you’d have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months.
で「それは子供たちに伝えるのにまだ10年あると思っていた全てのことをたった２～３か月で伝えようということだ。」という意味になります。

It means to ～ の it とは、前回出てきた、
go home and get my affairs in order「家に帰って身辺整理をしなさい」と医者に言われたことです。

どういうことを意味するのかというと、
try to tell your kids everything で「子供たちにすべてを伝える努力をする（こと）」です。
tell ～ … で「～に…を伝える、教える」です。

everything you thought you’d have the next 10 years to tell them で「あなたが伝えるのにこれからまだ10年あると思っていた全てのこと」です。
you thought you’d have the next 10 years「あなたがこの先10年間あると思っていた」は挿入節で、
everything to tell them の間に挿入された形。
I think や I thought が挿入されるのはよくある形です。
例：things I think I will buy 「私が買おうと思っているもの」、 things I thought I would buy「私が買おうと思っていたもの」

in just a few months は「たったの２～３か月で」です。
a few mounths は「２～３か月、数か月」です。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
