オーストリアの精神科医、精神分析学者、心理学者であり、アドラー心理学で有名な、アルフレッド・アドラーの言葉です。

Death is really a great blessing for humanity, without it there could be no real progress. People who lived for ever would not only hamper and discourage the young, but they would themselves lack sufficient stimulus to be creative.

Death is really a great blessing for humanity, without it there could be no real progress. People who lived for ever would not only hamper and discourage the young, but they would themselves lack sufficient stimulus to be creative.
で「死は人類にとって実に偉大な神の恵みである。死なくして本当の進歩はあり得ない。永遠に生きる人間がいたとしたら、若者を邪魔し、やる力を挫くだけでなく、自分たちでも創造的であるための十分な刺激を欠くことになるだろう。」という意味になります。

Death is really a great blessing for humanity, で「死は、実に偉大な神の恵みである、人類にとって」です。
blessing は「神の恵み、恩恵、ありがたいもの」です。
動詞 bless は「～を祝福する、恩恵を与える、～に神の加護を祈る」です。
人がくしゃみをしたらすかさず、bless you. と言う習慣でおなじみですね。
例：“Achoo!” “Bless you!”「ハクシュン！」「お大事に！」
humanity はここでは「（集合的に）人類、人間」です。他にも「人間らしさ、人間性」という意味でも使われます。

without it で「それがなければ～」
there could be no real progress. で「本当の進歩はあり得ない。」

People who lived for ever が主語で「（もし）永遠に生きた人（がいたとしたら）」です。
lived の過去形は、ちょっと特殊な形の仮定法で「もし～したら」という含意です。
for ever は「永遠に」。forever と同じ意味ですね。
would (not only) hamper and discourage the young, で「若者を邪魔したり、やる気を削いだりするだろう」です。
would は先ほどの lived を受けて「（もし～なら）…することだろう」です。
not only ～ but … の構文になって「～するだけでなく…もする（だろう）」です。
the young は「若い人たち、若者たち」です。the に形容詞で「～な人たち」という意味が作れます。
例：the old「年より、老人たち」、the poor「金のない人々」

but「それだけじゃなくて～」
they would themselves「彼らは自分自身も～するだろう」
they は People who lived for ever を指しています。
ここでの再帰代名詞 themselves は強意の副詞として使われており「彼ら自身も、自分自身も」と言った意味合いです。

lack sufficient stimulus to be creative. で「創造的であるために十分な刺激を欠く（ことになるだろう）」
stimulus ス[ティ]ミュラスは「（行動などを起こさせる）激励、励み」です。motivation に近い意味合いですね。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
