To begin with, で「まず第一に、初めに」という意味の副詞句。
it is a toy and an amusement.「それはおもちゃであり娯楽だ。」です。
it は writing a book「本を書くこと」を指しています。

Then ～「その後、次に～」
it becomes a mistress,「それは愛人となり」
mistress は「愛人」という意味です。
語源的には master の女性形で、もともと「女主人、女性の支配者・管理者」などを表しました。
また、古くから「愛される女性、恋人」という意味でも使われ、後に特に「既婚男性と関係を持つ女性、愛人」を指すようになりました。

it becomes a master,「それは主人となる」です。
master は「主人、雇い主、親方」です。主従関係の「主」ですね。

it becomes a tyrant.「それは暴君になる。」です。
tyrant [タ]イラントゥで「暴君、圧政君主」です。

The last phase is that ～ で「最後の段階は～というものだ」
that以下は、主語 The last phase の内容を説明する補語となる名詞節です。
just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, で「あなたがやっとその隷属状態に折り合いをつけようとするまさにその時」
just as ～ で「～するちょうどその時」という意味の接続詞。
be about to do ～ で「～しようとする」
be reconciled to ～ で「～に折り合いをつける、諦めて～を受け入れる」です。
to your servitude で「自分の隷属状態に」
まさにその時、
you kill the monster「あなたはそのモンスターを殺し」
and ～「そして～」
fling him to the public.「そのモンスターを世に放り出す」です。
him は the monster を指しています。
fling は「放り投げる、放棄する」という意味の動詞。
the public は「大衆、公衆、国民」という意味です。
つまり、長い執筆作業を終えて原稿を完成させ、その本を出版して世に送り出す、ということですね。

それではまず文節に分けて日本語に訳し内容を理解して下さい。
