Moving into first house with future wife, money tight, she paid £50 for laundry basket. I fumed, saying we are on a budget. She says worth it as it will last. 26 years later and as I put my undies in the laundry I’ve got to concede she probably got that one right.
Moving into first house with future wife,
(When I was ~ と言い換え可能)
Moving into (our) first house with (my) future wife,
she paid £50 for (a) laundry basket.「彼女は洗濯カゴに50ポンド支払った。」です。
pay ~ for …
I fumed,「
saying we are on a budget.「私たちは限られた予算でやっているんだ、と言った」です。
be on a budget
She says ~「

worth it は、(it’s) worth it の省略で「それだけの価値がある(と)」です。
as ~「~だから」
it will last.「それは長持ちする(から)」です。
10kg of rice lasts a month for us.「うちでは10kgの米で1か月持ちます。」
26 years later「(それから)26年後」
and ~「そして」
as I put my undies in the laundry「洗濯ものに自分のパンツを入れるときに」
I’ve got to concede that ~「私は~ということを認めなけれなならない」
she probably got that one right.「たぶん彼女が正しかったと。」
got that one right
例:get things right on the first try「一発でうまくやり遂げる」

saying

She says
