で「国際的な作家にとって日本は昔から魅力とひらめきの場所だった。想像力を刺激したり新しい物語を思いつくために、親しみやすさと異国情緒が絶妙に溶け合っていて。」という意味になります。

Japan has long been a place of ～ で「日本は昔から～な場所だった」です。
have long been ～ で「昔から～である、長らく～だった」という意味の言い回しになります。

どんな場所かというと、
a place of fascination and inspiration for international writers で「国際的な作家にとって魅了とひらめきの場所」です。
fascination は「魅了された状態、うっとりした状態」という意味の名詞です。
動詞形は fascinate ファッシネイトゥ「～を魅惑する、～をうっとりさせる」です。
例：fascinate the audience「観客を魅了する」
inspiration は「ひらめき、インスピレーション」です。
動詞形は文の後半で出てきますが、inspire インスパイアで「刺激してひらめきを与える」です。

with just the right blend of で「～の絶妙な溶け合いで」です。
right blend で「うまく溶け合った状態」という意味の言い回しです。
right は「正しい、合っている、適切な」という意味があります。
例：just the right size「ピッタリのサイズ」

familiarity and exoticism で「親しみやすさと異国情緒」です。
familiarity は「親しみやすさ、親近感」という意味の名詞です。
形容詞形は familiar ファミリアー「良く知っている、聞き覚えのある、親しみがある、なじんだ」です。
exoticism イグ・[ザ]・ティ・スィズムは「異国情緒」です。
形容詞形は exotic イグザティックで「エキゾチックな、変わっている、異国風な」です。

to stimulate creativity and inspire new stories で「創造性を掻き立てたり新しいストーリーを思いついたりするのに」です。
stimulate は「刺激する、興奮させる、掻き立てる」という意味の動詞です。
例：stimulate a part of the brain「脳の一部を刺激する」
